Description
These block printed images feature a retro-inspired robot design with two layers of color – a base layer of gray and an additional layer in either red or blue. The printing blocks were carved from MDF (medium-density fiberboard) and used to create these unique, limited edition prints.
The first layer of gray was printed using a combination of acrylic paint and relief printing ink. In some cases, additional details were added to the gray layer using Sharpie markers, which were then traced over with a micron pen to create finer lines and textures.
Due to the nature of the reduction printing process used to create these pieces, no two prints are exactly alike. Once the secondary color (red or blue) was added, the printing block could not be used to create another print with the same two-layer effect. This makes each block print a true one-of-a-kind artwork.
